3M Window Tint

Will my car really feel cooler on the inside?

Yes! All of our 3M window tint is proven to reject a portion of Total Solar Energy. Each level tint has a different rating as to how much it blocks.

Do you offer warranties?

All 3M tint comes with a Limited Lifetime Warranty. We also offer a No-Fault Warranty as an option when purchasing your tint. Contact us for more information on these warranties.

How long does 3M tint last?

3M Window Films are made to last for many years. The exact length of time depends upon the type of film applied, window orientation, type of glass it is applied to and the particular climate in which it is applied.

Does it change the appearance of my vehicle?

That depends on the percentage of tint you choose to have applied. Crystalline 90 will look almost factory, while Color Stable 5 will drastically alter the look of your vehicle’s windows.

Can I drop my vehicle off for the day or do I have to stay and wait?

That is completely up to you. We prefer to have you drop the vehicle off for the day, but we also a have a waiting area that you can utilize. We have a key drop for customers who are dropping their vehicles off after hours.

I just had my windows tinted and they look a little hazy. Is this normal?

Yes, this is completely normal and temporary. For the first few days after your windows are tinted they might appear cloudy, hazy and you may see little water pockets forming underneath the film.  This is very typical. When windows are tinted, the squeegees can only remove a certain amount of the water from between the film and the glass. As the film dries, the remaining water will form little pockets.  Window film is a porous material that allows water to evaporate, so these water pockets will simply evaporate and go away by themselves as the film fully bonds with the glass.  The amount of time before your new tint will be totally dry is determined by the amount of sunlight it gets. If it’s cloudy and overcast outside, it will take longer.  If it’s hot and sunny, then the film dries very quickly.  This time frame can range from 3 days up to 1 month. Remember that window tint is a large adhesive that is being applied to glass that may have been around for years. We take every measure to ensure the cleanest install possible but understand that the expectation is to be that of tinted glass, not factory dyed glass. If there seems to be excessive debris in the tint, we will redo the window immediately.

Can tint be taken off?

Yes, we can remove tint. If your vehicle needs old tint removed prior to our tint installation an additional fee will apply. If you have been pulled over for illegal tint and need it removed and inspected we can help with that as well.

How durable is window tint?

Many times our customers inquire about the durability of window film. The hard scratch-resistant coating found on our 3M window film products do an excellent job protecting window tint from everyday use as well as kids and pets.  A word of caution is to remember window tinting is installed on the inside of the glass and is coated with a high quality scratch resistant layer for protection. However, the key word is “resistant”. Take care when loading and unloading objects with sharp or hard edges, boxes. Sporting equipment, etc.  It is possible to tear even the best window tinting material with a sharp or hard object hitting against the tint. Glass without tinting or with factory window tint, can be damaged in this fashion also. If you accidentally cause damage to the film, the cost of re-doing the window is generally inexpensive.

What do I use to safely clean my windows?

After your windows are tinted, you need to wait 7-10 days to clean them. Basically you don’t want to rick smearing or smudging the glue between the film and the glass.  Do not use the blue “Windex with Ammonia-D” or any blue colored cleaners because they usually have ammonia in them.  There are many cleaners made specifically for tinted windows which work very well. We carry a 3M Glass Cleaner for sale in our showroom that works great!  You can also use soap and water, vinegar and water or really anything without ammonia or abrasives. Be sure to wipe with a soft towel or squeegee, paper towels or natural sponges should not be used.

3M Vehicle Wraps

What is a vehicle wrap?

A wrap is basically a big printed decal for your vehicle. Wraps are a great advertising tool because they are a moving billboard for your company or cause. Our wraps are custom designed and printed for your specific vehicle.

Why should I wrap my vehicle?

Vehicle wrapping is an extremely effective advertising solution. Wrapping your vehicle is one of the cheapest forms of effective advertising that you can buy! Your vehicle can be visible everyday to everyone that drives by it. Whereas other forms of advertising (newspaper, tv commercials, etc.) only appear at set times in certain places. 30% of motorists say they base buying decisions on ads that they see.

How long have you been wrapping vehicles?

Shannon-Baum Signs has been wrapping vehicles since 1999.

Can I reorder a wrap that you have installed before?

Yes. We store all of our wrap files. We can also redesign an existing wrap to fit a different type of vehicle.

Do you do all of the work in-house?

Yes. First, we work with you to create a design you like that fits your vision and vehicle. We then print that design using one of our large format printers. Lastly, the print then gets laminated (which protects the print against grease, dirt & chemicals) and applied to your vehicle by our team of trained installers.

How long does the entire wrap process take?

Typically the process takes between 3-5 days once the design is approved. Partial wraps take around 3-4 days, while full wraps take 4-5 days. The time it takes to install a wrap also depends on the type of vehicle we are wrapping. A box truck with flat surfaces will take a lot less time compared to a vehicle with a lot of curves.

Can I use my own graphics and pictures?

You most certainly can. All of the graphics and images you supply us must be high-resolution. If the file you provide is not large enough we will notify you and suggest options for fixing the problem. You must also either own the image or have the rights to use it.

How do I transfer my files to you?

We use a file transfer program that can be found on our website here: https://shannonbaum.wetransfer.com/

If our wrap is damaged in an accident can you repair it?

Yes, we keep your wrap files so the repair will match with the original design.

Will my paint be damaged when the wrap is removed?

If we are installing the wrap on the original paint it will actually protect the paint from everyday wear and tear. However, if we are installing the wrap on an aftermarket paint job, depending on the quality of the paint, it may cause peeling when the wrap is removed.

How long does a wrap last?

The average life of one of our wraps is 5 years.
